Billie Stude (STEW-dee, any) is a fauvist post-realism painter and cartoonist who creates tranche de vie single-panel comics and mixed-media paintings.Billie has over a decade of experience in translating their perception of the world onto the page, and connecting with others to help bring their ideas to life through art. Their work explores themes of nostalgia, existentialism, identity, surreality, and intimacy. These ideas are communicated through masterful combinations of expressionist color, stylized imagery, and, at times, a touch of hyperrealism to create artwork that is exuberant, emotionally resonant, and captures the magic in the mundane.Unicorn Meat Studio, named after Billie’s love of the fantasy genre, is the independent art studio through which they have published and distributed their work for over two and a half years.When they aren’t behind the drafting table, Billie can be found hiking the ruins of Ha Ha Tonka Castle, watching a Ghibli film, or playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Pricing

Pricing is subject to change, and depends on the labor and supplies required to complete your request. There is a 50% deposit required for all painting and illustration commissions. Shipping costs are included. Paintings start at $150USD, Illustrations start at $75USD. My rate for short-term contract projects begins at $17/hour.

Sizing and Materials

Paintings are 16x20in, and created with digital oil paint and acrylic gels on loose canvas. Illustrations are 8x10in, and created with digital and traditional inks on archival quality resin coated paper.

Shipping

Shipping/prints are only available in North America currently due to rising costs of shipping outside of the United States. If you live outside of North America and would like to commission me for custom work, please reach out and I can offer my discounted rate to exclude any print and shipping fees. You will receive a high quality JPG & PNG version of the artwork instead.

Refunds/Cancellations

All sales are final. 50% deposit is non-refundable.
